Whistler Blackcomb opened today with a powder bang and we have the video and pics to prove it.
The mountain opened early to mid winter conditions thanks to almost 2 meters of snow falling in the past week. With a current snow base of 176 centimetres, skiers and boarders who were lucky enough to be at the mountain today, were greeted with some of the best early season conditions in history.
Australian pro skier and film maker, Anna Segal, was one of the lucky few to hit up the mountain the days before opening. For photographic purposes, of course. We’re not saying we hate her, but seriously? That is one hell of a lot of power Ms Segal.

Another storm cycle is expected to arrive on Saturday, with another 35 – 50 centimeters (13 – 20) inches of snow forecasted by Monday morning. Looks like Whistler is, again, the place to be this winter.
Count me in. I’m booking a flight.
