Two Australians win FIS World Cup Crystal Globes

The season isn’t over yet but two Australian athletes have already secured the FIS World Cup Crystal Globe for their competition season.

There’s no surprise that Britt Cox has taken out the honor for moguls with 6 gold medals and 1 bronze with one more World Cup moguls event still to go.Her fellow teammate, Matt Graham, currently sits 3rd on the leaderboard for FIS World Cup moguls.

Scotty James finished in the yellow bib on first for this season’s leaderboard for FIS World Cup Halfpipe after winning gold in Pyeongchang this weekend. This also secures him the Crystal Globe.

Belle Brockhoff still holds the yellow bib for this season for SBX and Alex Chumpy Pullin currently sits 4th in the men’s with three more WC comps ahead.

Danielle Scott has also had a stellar run with the yellow bib earlier in the season for women’s aerials. She now sits at number two on the leaderboard with two more aerial events to go. This makes her a true contender for the aerials Crystal Globe.

But wait, we also have the FIS World Cup Championships in Sierra Nevada in March when our athletes will compete in Moguls, Aerials, Halfpipe, SBX and Ski X.  Our 2016/2017 World Cup podium winners Britt Cox, Matt Graham, Brodie Summers, Danielle Scott, Lydia Lassila, Belle Brockhoff, Alex Pullin, Jarryd Hughes and Sami Kennedy Sim are all set to compete in their disciplines for a World Champion status during the week of events.
