They wore what? Fifteen ski/board outfits for the foolhardy

Every day is Halloween at a ski resort where anything goes, just add an outfit bought online and some schnapps.

Clearly some resorts sprinkle LSD into the snow making guns by night then provide a dress up box come sunrise. Think barmen dressed as chickens in Verbier, ski instructors in tutus at Mt Olympus, naked skiers at Tianchi and grown men in onesies at Mayrhofen.

If there’s a costume box and a snow slope you can be guaranteed someone is combining the two. Whether it’s a Santa Ski Day for a free lift pass at Whistler or Bolton, retro ski day at Mammoth or a multitude of Spring carnivals and closing day festivities, make sure you pack your onesie, a tiara and a giraffe outfit. Because you never know when you’ll need it.

Though be warned, psychologists say that “dressing up as Superman may signify a strong sense of inadequacy or it may signify the opposite—an overly grandiose self-image.”

If in doubt you can always rent ‘epically 80’s ski wear’.
