A matchbox in Sydney with a view or a ski resort in Montana? Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is up for grabs for US$3.5million and it could be yours.

Now is your chance to purchase your own 5 star ski area in Montana located above the quaint town of Lakeside.

A Montana real estate agency has listed the ski property for US$3.5 million (AU$4.56 million). Expect 1000 acres of National Forest terrain, 1440 foot vertical (426 metres), a longest run of 1.75 miles (2.8kms) plus two double chairs, a triple chair and a handle tow with a combined lift capacity of 3900 people per hour.

Add a terrain park with various jumps and rails and an average annual snowfall of 250 inches (6.35 metres) plus a lodge with restaurant, retail and ticket office.

The terrain is split between 15% beginner, 70% intermediate and 15% expert and lift tickets are US$40 (AU$52) for a day for adults, $28 for teens and $19 for kids.  Group lessons are US$35 and private lessons US$170 (AU$221) for an all day lesson.

The lodge is home to a sit down restaurant and pub on the top floor and a cafe canteen style on the second. Word is the ski resort runs at a profit so keep as is or develop further to capitalize on the nearby town of Lakeside.

Any takers?
