Australia’s mogul skiers, Britt Cox, Matt Graham, Brodie Summers and Jakara Anthony revealed the course details at a press conference with Chef de Mission Ian Chesterman and his deputy Geoff Lipshut in PyeongChang today.

After a training session last night, Matt Graham revealed the course is around twenty eight degrees pitch and 250 meters in length. Super cold temperatures have kept the course firm and technical which will benefit our Australian mogul skiers who are traditionally a highly technical team.

Graham expressed the true nature of competition when asked how you beat a mogul machine such as Mikael Kingsbury, the most accomplished mogul skier of all time.

“At the end of the day it’s me against the run” said Graham.

Chesterman revealed that around half of the Australian Team will march at the Opening Ceremony on Friday night with the moguls skiers choosing to remain in the village due to competition schedule (qualifications are on Friday).

“Many of the team choose to put performance first” revealed Chesterman.

Britt Cox has been ruled out of the highly coveted flag bearer position due to the conflict schedule which puts Scotty James as a major contender for the position after Lydia Lassila politely declined and ruled herself out as she wants to concentrate on competing.

“Anyone in the top ten” is how Cox described her biggest competitors in a FIS World Cup season where it could be almost any one’s game come Olympic finals day. Cox is competing in her third games and is the current world champion in moguls.

Brodie Summers appeared in good spirits and confident with his skiing prowess at training last night after a knee injury in 2017. While the rookie of the team, Jakara Anthony, was honored to be amongst Australia’s finest.

The team will be training again this evening and SnowsBest will be on site. More to come.
