Jackson, Vail, Beaver Creek and Aspen are go

Jackson Hole this week

Your favourite Colorado and Wyoming resorts are opening this week hot off the back of Whistler’s record powder opening last week.

Jackson Hole already boasts over 2 meters of snowfall this season to date and is opening a day early, this Friday November 24. Terrain will be limited to Teewinot, Apres Vous and Teto Lifts but more will open on Saturday including Sweetwater and Bridger Gondolas, Casper and Marmort lifts.

In Colorado both Vail and Beaver Creek will open on Wednesday, November 22with 45 acres of skiable terrain at Vail accessed from Born Free Express. Beaver Creek will have 58 skiable acres of terrain on Gold Dust to Haymeadow.

Vail’s mountain operations team was able to take full advantage of the colder temperatures and natural snowfall during the last several days, allowing us to move up our Opening Day to Wednesday,” said Doug Lovell, Vail chief operating officer. “We are excited to be able to join Beaver Creek in opening on Wednesday and believe it gives our guests options heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.”

Aspen Mountain and Snowmass will open for the 2017-18 season Thursday, Nov. 23. Top-to-bottom skiing, 3,200 vertical feet and over 100 acres of terrain will greet skiers and snowboarders at Aspen Mountain. Snowmass Mountain will have skiing and riding available in two areas of the mountain, Elk Camp Meadows and Fanny Hill.

Aspen this week

“We are excited to kick off a new season,” says Katie Ertl, senior vice president mountain operations, Aspen Skiing Company. “Given the recent series of storms, cold weather and the hard work of the Aspen and Snowmass Mountain crews our entire staff is ready to make Thanksgiving a memorable opening day.”
