Help Australia’s first indigenous aerialist become a Winter Olympian

Mikayla George is our first Indigenous athlete in the Australian Aerial Skiing Development Squad. Help her to be our first Indigenous Winter Olympian.

Mikayla has overcome a lot to get this far, and she’s an inspiration and role model to disadvantaged and Indigenous youth throughout Australia, but she needs financial backing to continue training.

A Wurundjeri/Wiradjuri girl, Mikayla is just 16, but she already has a long history of sporting excellence in gymnastics and trampolining. She was scouted as a potential aerial skier by the Victorian Institute of Sport when she attended a trial ski camp at Mt Buller (it was the first time she had seen snow).

Mikayla is an ambassador for the newly formed Australian Indigenous Alpine Sports Foundation and an active role model.

The AIASF has launched a crowdfunding campaign seeking to raise $8,000 to pay Mikayla’s training costs through to the end of 2016 to help her achieve her dream.

Can you help?
