British Columbia in Canada has 13 ski resorts on 10 mountain ranges. So how do you know which one is right for you?

Whether you love vertical, powder, groomers, family skiing, thriving apres or off the beaten track there is a British Columbia resort with your name on it.

Vertical

If you love a thigh burn then you will love Revelstoke Mountain. This mammoth sized mountain boasts 1700 meters of vertical. That’s 1.7 kilometers so start your squat regime now.

Powder

Kicking Horse is on the famed Powder Highway where the snow falls in big fat fluffy light and dry flakes. You’ll find plenty of ‘blower pow’ in these parts. Last season the resort had almost 10 meters of snow fall. That’s face shots galore.

Size

A British Columbia list is not a British Columbia list without Whistler Blackcomb. The largest ski field in North America (8000 skiable acres) will keep you entertained for days, weeks and months on end.

Groomers

Panorama is all about wide open groomers that wind down the fall line from the summit to the village base.  This intimate, accessible and friendly resort has 1152 skiable hectares and Canada’s largest outdoor slope side hot pools. You can even heli ski from the village base or if you prefer to ‘heli eat’ take the heli to the top for fondue dinner.

Families

You can’t go past the Okanagan resorts of Big White and Silver Star near Kelowna for serious family fun in a ski in ski out village or head to Sun Peaks near Kamloops for a purpose built ski village and three mountain peaks.

Apres

Like to party after the chairlift closes? Choose a BC resort with a thriving village. Whistler is a no brainer but also consider Banff and Fernie townships for fun party times. Take your Berocca.

Off the beaten track

Red Mountain is a local favorite. Steep and deep with gladed trees and a laid back vibe. Also check out Whitewater for serious ski cred and some of the most exciting terrain going.

Boasting rights

Theres no better boasting right than a heli ski holiday. Stay 3, 5 or 7 nights in a remote CMH Heli Ski lodge in the heart of British Columbia where the powder never ends.
