Tragic news out of Whistler today for the family and friends of Alison Raspa, a West Australian woman missing since November. Human remains found in Alpha Lake have been formally identified as the 25 year old West Australian.
Ms Raspa went missing on November 23 last year after leaving the Three Below Bar close to midnight. It is known that she caught a bus to Creekside and that she sent texts at 1.15am to friends saying she was lost. They reported her missing the next day.
Some of her belongings were found by police as well as her phone at Alpha Lake Park. The ABC have reported conjecture that she may have been suffering from hypothermia, hence the disorientation and removal of clothes in sub zero temperatures.
Police divers searched Alpha Lake after her disappearance without any findings. Human remains were found in the north end of the lake last Friday and confirmed today as Ms Raspa. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say her death does not appear suspicious.
A tragic end to a young life. Ms Raspa moved to Whistler in May last year and, like many Australians who enjoy the seasonal life, worked in hospitality at the popular ski resort.
