You know winter is around the corner when Warren Miller Entertainment announce their film tour dates.
The team at Adventure Entertainment in Australia have released the Australia and New Zealand tour dates and destinations for the latest film, Future Retro, the 71st in the Warren Miller film stable.
Future Retro features all your favourite ski and snowboard athletes including Danny Davis, Elena Hight, Marcus Caston and Lexi duPont and friends taking on the steeps and deeps of Switzerland, Iceland, Alaska, Antarctica alongside Montana, Tahoe and Vermont in the USA.
In Future Retro, progressive, young skiers Lexi duPont and Amie Engerbretson journey to the heart of a deep-rooted ski culture in Switzerland, and freeskiers Baker Boyd and Victor Major rip the endless peaks of Iceland, using a 1,300-year-old farm as their base camp. A trio of world-class snowboarders Elena Hight, Danny Davis and Nick Russell travel to Antarctica and witness the impact of climate change.
Legendary skiers Scot Schmidt and the Egan brothers show a new crop of athletes how they were responsible for the extreme-skiing movement of the ’80s and ’90s, and the next generation of skiers and riders show us what it means to challenge the status quo.
From competitive triumph on the road to the podium at the World Cup in Killington to pushing boundaries of big-mountain skiing in Alaska, Future Retro will be that connection—past, present and future.
Future Retro will premiere on May 7 in Auckland New Zealand and May 12 in Melbourne Australia. The film tour then travels across Australia and New Zealand to more than 40 locations.
Film attendees will enjoy gear deals and gear discounts from WME resort and retail partners. Plus, all moviegoers are entered into nightly door-prize drawings and the national sweepstakes to win gear, swag, and ski trips.
Melbourne tour dates are May 12 to 16 and Sydney May 20 to 23 with capital cities and regional destinations throughout June and July.
