To celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Volkl, the ski manufacturer has launched the Volkl V.Werks 100 ski.
This revolutionary ski features a groundbreaking transparent ski construction and boasts more performance and less weight. The high tech ski from the German brand focuses on a revolutionary design that has trimmed every possible gram with the use of carbon, aramids and Titanal.
With 100 underfoot the new V.Werks 100 is ideal for the intuitive freedrider who loves powder skiing.
Add an ultra-flat design that offers both edge grip and lightning-fast responsiveness. The unique 3D structure of the wooden core is precisely milled at the Straubing factory using state-of-the-art CNC technology.
The secret is the 3D.Ridge construction plus a two-part environmentally friendly wood core which gives consistent transparency throughout the entire length of the ski. The advanced wood core enhances the skiing experience by delivering a smoother and more enjoyable ride, minimising disruptive vibrations and shocks while enabling improved control on the slopes.
To craft the unique wood core construction, the Tailored Fibre Placement (TFP), an innovative manufacturing process exclusively used by Völkl in the ski sector, is employed.
Tailored inserts in the tip area are stitched onto the base material in such a way that the ski’s handling characteristics can be controlled via the angle of placement as well as the fibre orientation and thickness.
For the V.WERKS 100, the Straubing-based ski manufacturer has evolved the TFP technology and is working for the first time with two different materials (carbon and natural fibres) that are stitched three-dimensionally on top of each other.
The torsional stiffness is controlled in a targeted and precise manner via the tailor-made inserts and the dynamics are directed to the areas where they are needed. This results in enhanced precision, quicker response from the tip, and a more spirited ride.
The carbon fibres ensure maximum power transmission, while the natural fibres provide a distinctive suppleness, delivering ideal damping.
The V.WERKS technology is unique to Völkl and cannot be found in series production at any other ski manufacturer.
With a limited number of skis (1923 numbered pairs) you know you’ll be in an exclusive club on the mountain.
