Selwyn Snow Resort revealed yesterday that the ski resort in New South Wales alpine region had experienced significant damage in the Dunns Road bushfire that swept through Kiandra, Cabramurra and surrounds on Saturday.

Earlier today the resort revealed images of that devastation and a statement vowing to rebuild the decimated resort.

“The Blyton Group is committed to Selwyn Snow Resort and our focus now is on rebuilding an even better Selwyn.”

Locals and regular Selwyn Snow Resort skiers and snowboarders have been anxious to see how the fires impacted the resort. Tonight, Nine News broadcast a report on the loss of the country’s beloved Selwyn Snow Resort near Kiandra, the birthplace of skiing in Australia.

The vision shows chairlifts completely melted by the extreme heat and buildings shattered by the inferno. The chairlift towers are the only infrastructure left standing.

The Australian ski community is deeply saddened by the loss of this beloved resort that has bred so many skiers and snowboarders.

Selwyn Snow Resort have vowed to rebuild better than ever and we have no doubt that they will with the snow community behind them all the way.
