Top Australian chef, Tobie Puttock, will be bringing his signature take on modern Italian fare to the annual Beaver Creek Winter Culinary Weekend – taking place from the 19th to 22nd of January 2017.
Tobie will be joined by a throng of famous international chefs including Carla Hall, Hugh Acheson, Gabriel Kreuther, Suzanne Tracht and Maycoll Calderon along with the mountain’s local culinary stars for the resort’s annual winter food festival. Set at the base of a World Cup mountain, the Beaver Creek festival offers a wide range of epicurean experiences for snow and food enthusiasts – from intimate, luxurious culinary explorations to dynamic, high-alpine outdoor adventures.
Australian skiers and snowboarders can combine their love for the snow and their want for gourmet dining with a trip to the annual festival. All events are set to make the most of the resort’s first class restaurant offering, stunning mountain surrounds and world-famous terrain.
Of the 12 events scheduled for the weekend, Tobie will be headlining the Ski.Eat.Ski event and will be featured at the weekend’s culminating event, the Grand Tasting.
“This is the first time we have had an Australian chef participate in the Beaver Creek Culinary Weekend,” said May Lilley, Senior Manager of Destination Marketing, Australia.
“Beaver Creek has long been the ski destination of choice for Australians looking to enjoy world-class service, incomparable sophistication and white carpet treatment. Being that Australians also have such an affinity with food and wine, it was an obvious choice to include Tobie in the crème de la crème of culinary festivals”
SKI.EAT.SKI
Tobie, a keen snowboarder, will be joining guests at the festival’s signature event Ski.Eat.Ski on the 21st of January. Tobie and guests will hit the mountain’s best secret snow spots with private ski instructors from Beaver Creek’s Ivy League of ski schools, before indulging in a gourmet lunch designed by Tobie and the team at Zach’s Cabin. Perched on the mountainside high above Bachelor Gulch, Zach’s Cabin is one of Beaver Creek’s award-winning, ski-in / ski-out on mountain restaurants.
GRAND TASTING
The Grand Tasting is the final and ultimate festival experience, seeing Tobie join forces with the best of both guest and local chefs – including Carla Hall, Hugh Acheson, Gabriel Kreuther, Maycoll Calderon and Suzanne Tracht – at the five-star Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. Festival goers will enjoy a range of tastings, wine, spirits and music as part of the premium food and wine event on the evening of the 21st of January.
Aussies looking to enjoy the festival and hit the slopes should look to purchase the Epic Local Pass, which gives a total of 10 days at Beaver Creek and nearby Vail, five days at Whistler Blackcomb, unlimited and unrestricted skiing or riding at Breckenridge, Keystone, Wilmot, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton and Arapahoe Basin, along with limited restrictions at Park City, Heavenly, Northstar & Kirkwood.
