From mega storms in California to top ups in Japan . The week that was (and will be) across the northern hemisphere ski areas in one curated photo gallery.
Everyone is talking about Mammoth Mountain right now. With 2 metres (7 feet) in two days, you can see why. But that’s not the best part. The Californian resort has up to 20 feet forecast in 10 days. Yes, you read that right. Check out the pics we got in our inbox this week.
All the resorts in California are reaping the rewards of the same storm with Squaw, Heavenly, Kirkwood, Northstar and friends dining on pow for breakfast.
Meanwhile in Colorado this week, I-70 resorts enjoyed a foot of snow.
And in Utah, resorts are measuring snowfall in feet not inches with a second storm cycle about to hit on Sunday.
We know how good Utah is right now because we went heli skiing at Park City on Tuesday. Oh, no, no, we didn’t we just got first lifts at SilverStar at Park City. Felt like heli skiing though.
Then we hit up Powder Mountain on the best day of their season thus far. Blue skies, lollipops and pow pow powder.
This week in Canada it was all about real heli skiing. Check out the pics from Mica, CMH and Weigele below.
Wondering about Japan? Wonder no more. Resorts in both Hokkaido and Honshu had some decent snow falls this week with a 40cm storm in Hakuba.
Big storms are heading to California (again) and to Utah this Sunday. If you’re posting on Instagram tag #misssnowitall so we can check out your turns.
