A father and his 10 year old daughter are currently missing in Thredbo.
It is believed they have become separated from their group of snowboarders and were snowboarding in the backcountry outside of the resort boundary.
NSW Police, Fire and Rescue and Ambulance NSW have been deployed to the scene after they received a call from the father around 3pm today.
It is understood that the man’s phone is also running low on battery and the pair are lost in deep snow.
Sydney radio station 2GB reports that NSW Ambulance Superintendent, Jordan Emery revealed there had been heavy snowfall.
“We’re continuing to conduct search efforts, it’s a massive effort between police, Fire and Rescue NSW and Ambulance NSW,” he told 2GB reporter Ben Fordham. “We’re really hopeful for a positive outcome this afternoon.
“There’s been a huge dump of snow which is making it challenging. Our hearts are in our mouths.”
Thredbo has received 140cms of snow in the past four days.
