Some forecasters say up to a metre of snow is set to fall on the alps in Australia this week. Are they right?

I swear, sometimes, that forecasters and resorts have dementia with all the upgrading and down grading of predicted snow falls each week. Talk of storms that never appear or when they do they fall as clear snow.
But I’m a glass half full kind of gal so I’m right behind the current big snow storm forecasts. Why? Because every season there’s one that turns the season around and dumps big powder that has everyone frothing and folks hitting the pedal to get down south in time for freshies.
Let’s take a look at what the forecasting experts have to say about the week ahead because they don’t all agree.
It started last week with meteorologist Jane Bunn from Jane’s Weather that had Falls Creek Facebook pages posting count down images to remind us that yes, the snow IS coming.
She was the first to go large, and she’s rarely wrong, putting her money on fifty to eighty centimetres of snow from Monday to the following Monday with this forecast.
Pete Taylor from Snowatch.com.au also went big though in his own words he still thinks he has been too ‘conservative’ in his forecast. If that’s the case then you’d better pack a snorkel if you’re heading to the ski fields this week.
Weatherzone.com.au are also predicting around 80cms over the next seven days and are saying there is more the following week as well.
Which brings us to the Bureau of Meteorology who are certainly erring on the side of snow, though they prefer to refer to snow showers than blizzards.
So either all of these forecasters have got it wrong or it is going to snow like a head banging monkey with dandruff at a five day doof doof rave. I’m gunning for the latter because I wouldn’t want to be those forecasters if it turns from a froth to a fizz.
What are you gunning for?
