Momentum Exposure Ski Camps give budding teen and young adult  photographers and filmers the chance to work with and learn from the best.

Today anyone with a mobile phone and an instagram filter can call themselves a photographer but it takes an educated professional to understand light, composition, exposure and it takes a story teller to truly understand narrative arc and dramatic tension required to make a decent film.

And according to some you’ll also need some pro skiers and snowboarders to make your shot both publishable and marketable.

So how does the average Joe get access to all of this? Enter Momentum Exposure Ski Camp for teens and young adults.

Launched in 2012 as part of the already highly successful Momentum Ski Camp, the Exposure Film + Photo Camp will include instruction, guidance and mentoring from Blake Jorgenson, Josh Berman from Level 1, Johnny DeCesare from Poor Boyz Productions, Darren Rayner from Voluerz, Mike Douglas from Switchback Entertainment, Charlie Grinnel and Jeff Schmuck fro Skier Magazine.

Pro skiers will include Tom Wallisch, Gus Kenworthy and James Woodsy Woods.

Impressive stuff for those who can afford the well priced CA$2320 for eight night/nine day price tag which includes accommodation at Blackcomb Lodge and Spa with three to four youth sharing a room (adults have the option to upgrade), coaching and workshops, three full meals plus snacks each day, transfers from Vancouver.

But be warned you will need to have your own DSLR camera with a few lenses and a laptop for editing with software.

You will also need to be an intermediate skier or above.

With the look of the final edits made by some of the camp graduates in 2012 and 2013 below, I’d say this is money well spent.

Runs July 4 to July 12.
