Flying to ski in Japan or Europe via Singapore. Live in Brisbane? Singapore just made your day (if you have cash or an upgrade). Lie flat beds in Business from October 30.
Singapore Airlines today announced that from Sunday 30 October SQ245/246 will be operated by a Boeing 777-200ER.
The aircraft change will provide Brisbane customers with the option of a full flat bed Business class seat on Singapore Airlines only overnight flight from Brisbane to Singapore.
The Boeing 777-200ER is fitted with a total of 271 seats, with 26 Business class seats in a 1-2-1 format and 245 Economy class seats in a 3-3-3 format.
Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President, Mr Tan Tiow Kor, said he was pleased to provide Brisbane customers with a full flat bed Business class option.
“Our Brisbane customers have been asking for the option of a full flat bed Business class seat and I am pleased we are now in a position to operate an aircraft that provides that choice,” Mr Tan said.
“As more of the new aircraft join our fleet there will be more options to provide greater choice to our customers in the South West Pacific.”
The Boeing 777-200ER will operate daily on SQ245/246 which departs Brisbane at 23:35 and arrives in Singapore at 05:35 the next morning. The flight returns from Singapore at 09:45 and arrives in Brisbane the same day at 19:35.
The change in aircraft follows the opening of the new ‘Home Away from Home’ SilverKris lounge at Brisbane airport and the launch of a fourth flight from Singapore to Brisbane, which increased capacity into the Queensland capital by almost 15%.
All of these have come off the back of a strong 12 months for the Queensland market and reinforces Singapore Airlines commitment to servicing Brisbane.
