Mr Scotty James is on serious fuego this competition season as his winning streak from last season’s run of FIS, X Games and Olympic snowboard medals continues.
He’s already nabbed gold at the FIS World Cup season opener at Copper Mountain, now he’s taken the top spot at Laax in Switzerland.
James scored 95.75 in the halfpipe on his first run, putting him overall ahead of Japan’s Yuto Totsuka on 92 points and American Jake Pates on 85.50.
PyeongChang Olympic gold medalist, Chloe Kim, took gold in the women’s with 93.75 points, Queralt Castellet from Spain was second on 80.50 and Arielle Gold third on 77.25.
James is currently first overall in the World Cup standings with the X Games up next from January 24 to 27 followed by the FIS Freestyle World Championships held in Park City in February.
