What a difference a weekend makes as Australian resorts headed into the end of last week with flooding conditions and torrential rain on Friday that swept away the great start to the season.

By the end of the weekend the rain had turned to snow and come Monday and Tuesday it was finally back to powder days with over 75cms of snow loading up the New South Wales ski resorts.

Some crazy making videos and images have been doing the rounds on social media as Ullr giveth then taketh away.

Cat driver Mick Hopkins at Charlotte Pass had a field day in the rain pushing through flooding slushy waters and snow.

Paul Arundel filmed the state of play at Perisher during the rain.

Lucky for us the rain turned to snow and we started to see pics like these.

And footage like this at Thredbo.

In the meantime the crew down south at Falls Creek and Hotham have been celebrating. Falls Creek hit the 1 metre natural snow base mark and Tom Costa and Danii Forde celebrated by hitting the powder.

And Olympic snowboarder Alex Chumpy Pullen threw himself down some Hotham terrain.
