Skiing and snowboarding, they’re not cheap but damn they’re good fun.
The cost of lift passes has long been the topic de jour for the snow obsessed around the world. Day pass prices are akin to real estate, climbing higher and out of reach. Though the advent of multi resort season passes in recent years has also meant that those in the know can ski and snowboard for less and in more places.
Then along comes Charlotte Pass with Two Buck Tuesday. Say what?
Yes, the resort is now offering a Day Tripper return oversnow transport from Perisher to Charlotte Pass, hot lunch at China King, and lift pass for $2. The catch? There has to be two of you. The first person pays $2, the other pays the usual full price rate of $129 or $139 dependent on time of season.
Not bad. This is the resort that first brought us $69 Thursday (and still does). Same deal, return oversnow transport from Perisher on the same day, hot lunch and a house beverage at China King, and lift pass for $69 every Thursday throughout the season.
I know, right? Value galore.
If you haven’t been to Charlotte Pass you’re in for a treat with Australia’s highest lifted point, a pedestrian only cute as a button nook high amongst the gum trees with a cool Euro style chalet and views for days. Add in both family friendly groomers and lift accessed backcountry for those that know what they’re doing and you’ve found the country’s best-not-so-kept secret.
