Jindabyne’s Charlotte Wilson has made Australian freestyle history becoming our first FIS Mogul Skiing Rookie of the Year this season, awarded at the Livigno moguls event in Italy overnight.

The debut season for 20 year-old Wilson has been a stellar one with five finals and two super finals placements from six starts. The only final she didn’t qualify for was her first start.

Her results were rewarded with the Rookie of the Year cup.

“I was really looking forward to the World Cup but i didn’t have many expectations,” said Wilson in Livigno after receiving the award.

“It’s the most consistent season i’ve had and knowing i can put run after run down and still improve my skiing is a satisfying feeling. I try to keep everything the exact same, i compete my best when i stay to the same process i do day in day out.”

SnowsBest spoke with Wilson in Deer Valley earlier this season.

Wilson will now compete in the final dual moguls event of the 2024/2025 season tonight in the FIS World Cup Milano Cortina Winter Olympics test event before heading to St Moritz for the FIS World Championships.
