What a start to the FIS World Cup season for Australia with more medals this weekend for Australian athletes.

Bronze for Britt Cox last weekend in the moguls opening event and now silver and bronze in Montafon Austria overnight for the boarder cross team. One in the men’s event and one in the women’s.

Cameron Bolton scored himself a second place and silver medal and Belle Brockhoff is now back on the podium with a bronze. A great start for the team heading into the season.

Bolton now has a gold, silver and bronze in his cabinet after winning gold in Feldberg last season and bronze in Veysonnaz. He held steady through heavy snow and wind to get through to the final and onto the podium.

It’s especially sweet for Brockhoff after not one but two knee injuries in the past two years and this is her first World Cup medal since 2017. She was ecstatic to get herself back on the podium with her eighth World Cup medal in what will no doubt be a confidence booster for the season ahead.

PyeongChang Olympic silver medalist, Jarryd Hughes, made it to the small final in the men’s event and finished seventh overall.

There is more bling up for grabs this weekend with the Australian moguls team competing in both moguls and dual moguls at the FIS World Cup in Thaiwoo, China.

Scotty James is a hot contender at the US Grand Prix at Copper Mountain having qualified first for the final in halfpipe. Matt Cox is also in the final for the snowboard Big Air in Beijing, China.
