Why Winter Park is so hot right now

Now the super slick fast Winter Park Express train from Denver’s revamped Union Station direct to the slopes of Winter Park every Saturday and Sunday will seal the deal.
Winter Park’s 300 days of sunshine and eight metres of snowfall each season are coveted by powder hounds and with the new Winter Park Express train you won’t be sitting in I-70’s weekend traffic spending precious ski hours waiting for the traffic to move either. Looking for an alpine bowl experience then Parssen Bowl Territory has your name on it. Terrain park your thing? Terrain Park Territory is for you. Prefer your skiing steep and deep? Head on over to the Cirque Territory. You’ll find world famous bumps at Mary Jane Territory, intrepid powder stashes at Vasquez Ridge Territory and groomers to black diamonds over at Winter Park Territory.
An authentic mountain town
The town of Winter Park provides an intimate Colorado mountain town atmosphere complete with a Main Street, a ranch museum and a saloon. The first homestead, post office, and stage stop in the Fraser Valley was built in 1874 by William Cozens and you can witness it today. The Cozens Ranch Museum features an 11 room property on one downtown acre with exhibits, stage coaches and art gallery.
There’s also over sixty dining options in Winter Park. Hit up Goodies Mountain Creperie for fondue, raclette and crepes; try high altitude beer at Hideaway Park Brewery downtown or take in the mountain vistas from Lunch Rock atop of Mary Jane Territory.
But wait, there’s another 2965 acres down the road
Your Winter Park lift Route 40 pass is also valid at Steamboat and there’s a free shuttle service from Winter Park to Steamboat on the Highway 40. So you can spend a few days at Winter Park then hit up the historic cowboy town of Steamboat and it’s 2965 acres of skiable terrain across six peaks known for champagne powder and 1118 metres of vertical.
