Olympic slopestyle skier and X Games medalist, Anna Segal, teams up with her Freeride World Tour athlete sister, Nat Segal, and acclaimed filmmaker Bjarne Salen to produce the ski documentary, Finding the Line, to be released in the fall of 2017.

As professional elite athletes both Anna and Nat have confronted fear on numerous occasions from mammoth mountains to enormous terrain park jumps yet each has a different attitude and approach despite a shared family history as siblings.

Injury setbacks have plagued both girls in their careers and with injury comes fear. How they approached the fear and return to competition defines who they are and how they approach life.

Finding the Line explores the theme of fear as the girls set to conquer their own in the mountains of Canada, Australia, France, Alaska and the USA.

“Understanding fear and the methods we each use to deal with it can provide us with great insight into our own character” says Anna Segal.

“Bringing a discussion about fear to the public will be incredibly empowering for the viewer as hopefully we’ll reveal our own vulnerabilities too” adds Nat Segal.

Filmmaker Bjarne Salen is no stranger to the mountains, skiing, filmmaking and fear. He was present when his best friends JP Auclair and Andreas Frannson died in an avalanche in South America, was a filmmaker on Eclipse with Salomon Freeski, has won Powder Awards for his documentaries and is the name behind Tempting Fear, a half hour documentary. He is also a former Swedish Adventurer of the Year.

“I saw a lot of raw energy in the girls” explains Salen. “The story they want to share is something beautiful and inspiring for a filmmaker to be part of. They want to learn from each other to achieve their potential.”

Anna Segal is presently based in Whistler, Canada and spends her southern winters in Thredbo, Australia, while Nat Segal is based in Chamonix, France where she skis throughout the winter and rock climbs over the summer. Bjarne Salén currently lives in Northern California.

Together they have launched the Finding the Line website so followers can track the team’s progress.
